Reading the Guide needs no account. This page explains what we collect when you do more than read, and what you can do about it.
1. Who we are
The Pakistan Luxury Guide is an independent publication and directory. We decide why and how your personal data is used, which makes us the controller. You can write to us at privacy@pakistanluxuryguide.com.
2. What we collect
If you make an account: your email, and your name if you give it. If you save or follow: what you saved or followed. If you send an enquiry: your name, email, mobile number and the details on the form. If you ask the Guide a question: the question, with emails and phone numbers masked. If you become an Insider: your public name, city and contributions.
3. Why we use it
To let you sign in, to keep your lists, to send the alerts you chose, to pass an enquiry to the brand you named, to answer corrections, and to keep the site safe. We rely on your consent for alerts, enquiries and optional cookies, and on our legitimate interest in running and securing the service.
4. Who we share it with
An enquiry goes only to the brand you chose, with only the fields shown on the form. Our email, hosting and security providers process data for us under written agreements. We never sell your data and never share it with advertisers.
5. How long we keep it
Reader accounts until you delete them, and inactive ones are removed after 24 months. Alert subscriptions until you unsubscribe. Enquiries for 12 months, then anonymised. Ask the Guide chats for 90 days, then anonymised. Security logs for 2 years. Analytics are kept as totals.
6. Your rights
You can download your data, correct it, delete your account, withdraw any consent and see which brands received your enquiries, all from your privacy centre. Without an account, use the request form. We finish within 30 days. You can also complain to your data protection authority.
7. Cookies and analytics
We use only strictly necessary cookies unless you accept optional ones. Our analytics are first-party and anonymous by default, and nothing is counted before you choose. See the cookie policy.
8. AI on the Guide
Ask the Guide uses an AI model that sees only your question and our own pages. Our providers may not use either to train their models. See how we use AI.
9. International transfers
Some providers store data outside Pakistan, including in the United Kingdom, the European Union and the United States. We use providers that protect data to a standard at least equal to ours and publish a list of providers and where they hold data.
10. Children
The Guide is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you think a child has given us data, write to us and we will delete it.
11. Security
Passwords are not used: you sign in with a code or a passkey. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, access is limited to the people who need it, and every access to personal data is logged.
12. Changes and contact
When we change this policy we change the date at the top and say what changed. For anything about your data, write to privacy@pakistanluxuryguide.com.
